Transcendentalism Nov 10

Respond to anything we discussed today regarding Transcendentalism: the premises, the hypothetical quotes, the actual essays. Use sentence pattern #7 at least once and label. Remember that the pattern required a PAIR or SERIES of dependent clauses. Use commas with series but not with the pair (only after the clause).

RW Sept 17 #1

Hey Avid Readers! Tell us what you read today in class...but tell us using one vocabulary word and one of the sentence patterns we have studied (either 6, 7, or 8). I did not read in class, but I did read some last night. I am reading a book called Dragonfly in Amber, which is the second book of a serious. Ask Megan about the first one...she is reading it right now. The second one involved the main character's daughter...but I don't want to spoil anything for Megan. Overall, it is a story about a time-traveller who goes to 18th Century Scotland. The inimical conditions into which she is sent is one of the conflicts of the novel. Since I like the topic of time travel and since I am interested in history, I love this series!

Welcome!

Welcome 10 Honors students! This site will be a fun and exciting way for us to discuss topics, ask questions, and communicate! For our trial discussion question, let's just discuss books that we have enjoyed reading. Each student should respond at least twice to various comments. Let's begin...one of my favorite books is one called The Drowning People by Richard Mason. It begins at the end...with the narrator confessing to murder. He then goes back and tells the his story from the beginning. It is fascinating! Although you know he is the killer, you are still shocked by many other events that lead to his crime. Let me know about your favorites and respond to me about mine!
